The United Kingdom is the land of London, Edinburgh, Bristol, Cardiff, Belfast, medieval castles, Stonehenge, and many other fascinating cities that are popular for tourism. The UK has a strong presence in popular culture, with iconic figures such as Harry Potter, The Beatles, The British Royalty, and even popular football teams like Manchester United and Liverpool, to mention just a few.

Football is an important topic in the United Kingdom since it is the place that gave birth to the sport. You might also be surprised to know that this is where the first mass-produced toothbrushes were made, thanks to William Addis of Clerkenwald in 1780. Brits also invented the Apple Pie and the proto-lasagne in the 13th century, but without tomatoes.

The UK is a land full of huge basilicas, royal castles, breathtaking scenery, and beautiful villages with a lot of locals ready to welcome you. The Brits are quite polite and they’ll probably treat you well. Make sure to visit the British pubs, a cosy tradition in the country. These are popular places for people to relax, and there are about 60,000 pubs in the UK, so you’ll probably find one in almost every corner of England, Scotland, Wales, and North Ireland. The word pub is an acronym for Public House, which can be an example of how relevant these communal places can be for Brits. If you want a good example of it, you can visit St. Alban’s pub in England, which is located in an eleventh-century building in London.

Most tour trips to the UK will be ready to take you to the capital city of this land: London. This city houses at least 100 of the world’s top corporations, and many of the British brands they have produced are popular for their craftsmanship and luxury. You could say that many British brands have made their mark in almost all categories possible, including sports and vehicles. An example of this is British Gourmet or Twinings tea, but you can also take as an example the luxury vehicles like Bentley and Jaguar, or even enriched formulations of beer like Guinness or Tennent’s. The UK has many famous clothing brands like Reebok, River Island, Jack Wills, and many more.

Theatre fans might also want to visit the home of the beloved William Shakespeare, often referred to as England’s national poet. You can visit his home in Henley Street, Stratford-upon-Avon, which is in Warwickshire. If you’re more of a cinephile, then you can also visit interesting places that worked as set stages for numerous films, including Daniel Craig’s 007 and Harry Potter, of course. If you’re looking for a historical place to know more about Lady Diana, then you should visit the Kensington Palace in London, there are a number of exhibitions related to the beloved Diana Spencer.

The United Kingdom has the sixth-best educational system in the world by the global league table, which is why many international students decide to travel here to study for their future. But that shouldn’t be a surprise, especially with amazing educational establishments like the University of Oxford and the University of Cambridge. More than 400,000 students reside in places like London and Cambridge because they can easily travel to their universities. You should take a tour of these places; they’re hundreds of years old, so they have incredible histories.

London has a lot to offer. However, there’s also a lot to do in amazing cities like Manchester, which is home to important spots like the Centre for Chinese Contemporary Art, the Bridgewater Hall, and Manchester Art Gallery. Or Liverpool, the famous city that houses the Beatle Story and The Cavern Club, because this is where everything related to the Beatles began. Make sure to visit Stonehenge, a cromlech-type megalithic monument located in Wiltshire, or the famous London Eye near the Thames River.

Once you’re finished with England, you should visit Scotland, especially the capital city, Edinburgh. Edinburgh Castle is the most popular attraction in the city and is made of volcanic rock, and has a lot of history. In Scotland, you can also explore the famous Loch Ness, home of multiple urban legends, including the ‘Loch Ness Monster.’ There are many castles in Scotland like Urquhart and Stirling, but there’s also a lot of breathtaking landscapes like Ben Nevis and Glen Coe.

Northern Ireland and Wales are also well worth a visit. In Northern Ireland, you should visit Giant’s Causeway that has more than 40,000 basalt columns from the rapid cooling of lava in a volcanic caldera. You can also visit the city of Belfast for a lot of tourist and historic attractions.

Whilst in Wales, visit Snowdonia National Park and the National Trust – Bodnant Garden. If food is your thing, you can try delicious cream tea (especially in the Tea Time at 4:00 o’clock, a sacred hour for brits), scones, haggis, Yorkshire pudding, or the amazing English Breakfast which is more useful as a brunch on a weekend.

If any of the information is inaccurate, the application won’t be approved by the UK authorities and you won’t receive your EVW.

You can apply for an EVW as early as three months before you’re due to travel and as late as 48 hours before your flight to the UK. So, ideally, your best bet is probably to apply between one month and two months before your flight’s booked.
