Argentina FAQ

You’ll need to present your ETA (AVE), along with your passport, when you arrive in the country. Be aware that immigration officials may also insist on proof of booked accommodation/ an invitation to stay with a host and proof of adequate finances to sustain yourself.

The situation in each country during the Covid 19 pandemic is changing rapidly. Please check with the foreign office of the country in order to ascertain the most up to date entry requirement for vaccination and Covid tests.

A health declaration form that must also be completed (by both Argentinians and foreign nationals) in order to be able to enter the country, the Argentina Affidavit is being presently used to help government officials manage risks and issues caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

You’ll need a digital copy of your passport (especially the last two pages), a digital passport-sized photo and a credit/ debit card for payment.

Although the Argentina Affidavit is valid for one single entry to the country, the ETA (AVE) will be valid for 90 days after your arrival. You may be able to extend the validity of your ETA (for potentially another 90 days), but only after examination by an immigration official.

An ETA (AVE) will enable you to enter Argentina multiple times within the fixed 90-day timeframe of validity.

As with all countries, the final right to admit you into the country resides with the immigration officer on arrival into the port of entry.

If you reside in or you’re travelling from a yellow fever-affected country, you’ll be required to present proof of vaccination against the disease.

The ETA/ AVE enables eligible travellers from more than 70 countries to enter Argentina for tourism purposes only for a relatively short period, without having to apply for a full visa.

All citizens that are required to present a Visa upon arrival in Argentina are eligible for an ETA if they hold at least one of the following U.S. visas: B2, J, B1, O, P(P1-P2-P3), E, H-1B. This means citizens of the following countries may all be eligible for the ETA:
