Benin

Possessing a rich and proud culture, Benin is a West African nation worthy of visiting for its beautiful nature and wildlife and fascinating historical buildings and monuments; highlights definitely include its artisan markets. No wonder it’s often referred to, by those in the know, as one of Africa’s most underrated countries for visitors. As such, Benin’s visa system is set up to enable as many eligible tourist and business travellers to enter the country as possible, hassle-free.

eVisa
Enabling overseas travellers to enter Benin for a short period of time, the eVisa is available to all eligible visitors of any nationality, so long as they clarify (when applying for the eVisa) the reason for their visit; that is, for leisure, business or to visit family.
It’s important to note that, should you travel to Benin currently, you’ll have to complete and present to an immigration official a Benin Health Form on your arrival. It’s a mandatory travel questionnaire that supplies the Benin Government with details it deems necessary during the unprecedent Covid-19 pandemic, so it can contact you, should it need to, for any health-related reasons.
The good news, though, is that, as part of your eVisa application process, we’ll enable you to fill-out your Benin Health Form. Additionally, we’ll need you to fill-out your eVisa application, of course, and supply us with both a digital copy of your passport and a digital passport photo of yourself. We’ll then process these documents for you and, within 24 hours, email you your eVisa and your complete Benin Health Form, so you can show printed versions of them and the eVisa’s QR code to an immigration official on arrival (you’d be well advised to download back-up copies of both documents to a handheld device, too).

Required Documents To Apply

• A PDF copy of your valid passport (last page of passport)

• a passport photo (in JPG format)

• a confirmed flight ticket to and from Benin (to fill-out the Benin Health Form)

• payment via a credit/ debit card or PayPal account.

Important Instructions • Unless your passport is valid for at least six months after your date of arrival, you’ll be denied entry to Benin (the passport must also have at least one page free for stamping purposes); all overseas visitors must also possess proof of adequate funds to sustain their stay (such as a bank statement) and proof of a booked return flight • overseas arrivals to Benin currently do not need COVID-19 vaccination passports/ certificates in order to enter the country, but legislation can change rapidly during the pandemic, so it’s imperative to check before travelling; also, all visitors who enter Benin will be required to take a COVID-19 test on arrival and, should they test positive, will be required to self-isolate, per the Benin Government’s health protocols • possessing an eVisa for Benin doesn’t give an overseas traveller automatic right of entry to the country; an immigration official may deny entry should they consider a traveller doesn’t fulfil immigration requirements or their presence in the country would be contrary to national security.
